Foxwoods considers temporary Philadelphia casino19 October 2009PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania -- As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer: "Foxwoods Casino today told state regulators it will 'seriously consider' building a temporary casino on the South Philadelphia waterfront instead of a permanent structure. "In a letter to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, a Foxwoods lawyer, F. Warren Jacoby, said efforts to obtain financing raised 'unanticipated new issues' that may force Foxwoods to ask the board for permission to build a different type of structure. "Foxwoods had been considering erecting an 'interim' facility, much as the SugarHouse Casino is doing, that would serve as the core of a larger casino. "By contrast, a temporary structure would be built quickly, then removed to accommodate a permanent casino..." |
