Casino Robber Gets 15 Years

MONTANA – As reported by the Billings Gazette: "A man who robbed a casino with a pellet pistol and then wrote letters from jail directing a woman to commit more robberies to raise money for his bond was sentenced Thursday to 15 years at Montana State Prison.

"At sentencing, David William Reeks blamed drugs for the robbery he committed at the Nickel Ante Casino on 13th Street West on May 26.

"…Watters declared Reeks a persistent felony offender, then sentenced him to 15 years at the state prison for the robbery. She sentenced him to a concurrent sentence of five years for felony solicitation to commit perjury…"
