West Virginia Lottery looks to level playing field

WEST VIRGINIA -- As reported by Metro News: "Members of the West Virginia Lottery Commission will meet next week with members of the Maryland Lottery Commission to discuss ongoing efforts in that state to have video lottery.

"State Lottery Director John Musgrave says he would rather Maryland stay out of the video gambling business because of competition, but he says it's better to work with surrounding states to create a level playing field. West Virginia has worked with other states in the past.

"A November referendum is scheduled in Maryland that if approved would allow video lottery in several locations across the state including sites near the Charles Town Racetrack in the eastern panhandle..."
