St. Louis reports casino results

ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "Excluding a casino that opened less than a year ago, revenue at St. Louis area casinos dropped 9.4 percent in July compared to a year ago, according to figures released Monday from the Missouri Gaming Commission and Illinois Gaming Board.

"But, thanks to the Dec. 19 opening of Pinnacle Entertainment's Lumiere Place, the St. Louis casino market overall had revenue increase 7.6 percent in July to $90.5 million from $84.1 million a year ago.

"The six area casinos reported a total of 2.6 million customers in July, up 18.2 percent from the 2.2 million customers who visited the five local casinos last year..."
