Illinois casinos subsidies to continue11 July 2008SPRINGFIELD, Illinois -- As reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "The Illinois Senate on Thursday voted to keep in place a controversial law that forces the state's casinos to give money to horse racing tracks. "That law automatically expired last month. The Senate voted 37-5 to keep it in place until 2011. The measure now moves to the House. "The 2006 law requires the state's top-grossing casinos to pay 3 percent of their revenues to the struggling horseracing industry, including Fairmount Park at Collinsville..." |
