"...A multi-million-dollar Schanks Sports Grill recently opened in the Starlight Casino complex in New Westminster, featuring a myriad of options for the short-attention-spanned sports nut in anyone. "Countless video screens project games from around the planet while a sports ticker bombards patrons with up-to-the-minute news that might influence their government-approved Sports Action wagers. "If they're not in a gambling mood, customers can bring their own golf clubs and whack balls at a screen that projects images of famous courses like St. Andrews or Pebble Beach or Torrey Pines. "...Gateway plans to open its $153-million Grand Villa casino in October and that facility will feature a 100,000-square-foot gambling floor, a conference centre and a hotel. Entertainment options will include a 200-seat show lounge, two high-end bars and an upscale Italian-Asian fusion restaurant..." |
