Churchill Downs named top wonder

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- Business First of Louisville: "The votes have been counted and Churchill Downs has been named the top 'wonder' in Louisville in a contest co-sponsored by Louisville Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson, the Louisville Historical League and LouisvilleMojo.com.

"More than 6,000 votes were cast for the '7 Wonders of Louisville' contest, the Louisville Historical League said in a news release.

"...The seven wonders of Louisville were chosen from a list of 20 historical and cultural sites, which had been determined by a nomination contest..."
