New board to divvy up casino money

15 May 2008

PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Patriot-News: "When Dauphin County starts divvying up its share of taxes on the Hollywood Casino, $3 million will go to East Hanover Twp., host of the gambling operation. And surrounding municipalities will get priority status.

"The pledge guarantees the township money it will need to meet a rising demand for services like public safety and social services, said Commissioner Jeff Haste. East Hanover also will receive up to $750,000 in tax money directly from the casino.

"Grants will be reviewed by a five-member advisory board appointed this morning..."
