Chickasaw official lauds gaming29 November 2007OKLAHOMA -- As reported by Tulsa World: "Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby credits his tribe's gaming operations for enriching its business and social service programs. "Anoatubby addressed the Rotary Club of Tulsa on Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. "He said renovations and expansions of casinos, namely Winstar in Thackerville and Riverwind in Goldsby, would allow the tribe to improve the economies in those areas while helping it sustain health, housing and education programs. "...The goal of the Chickasaw business enterprises is to make the 38,000-member tribe self-sufficient. Its operating budget has gone from $11 million to $330 million within the last 20 years..." |
