Tribe sues state over gambling compact

SOUTH DAKOTA -- As reported by the Associated Press: "The Flandreau Sioux Tribe has filed a federal lawsuit alleging that Governor Mike Rounds and other state officials have unfairly prevented the tribe from adding more slot machines at its casino in Flandreau.

"The lawsuit alleges that the state has negotiated in bad faith as the tribe has sought a new gambling compact.

"The tribe's lawsuit seeks a court order requiring the state and the tribe to agree on a new gambling compact with 60 days. It also seeks an order preventing the state from treating the tribe unfairly..."
