Horseshoe tops Iowa results

IOWA – As reported by the Daily Nonpareil: "Horseshoe Casino took in nearly $16.7 million in gross gaming receipts during November to maintain its spot as the state's top-grossing casino, up slightly from the previous month and its second highest total since the conversion from Bluffs Run Casino in March.

"That marked an increase of nearly 76 percent for the expanded facility from November 2005, when Bluffs Run collected gross gaming receipts of $9.5 million. Overall market growth from $34 million to $39.1 million represented a 5.1 percent increase.

"…According to the figures released by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, more than $105.6 million was spent in Iowa's casinos during November on nearly 1.8 million admissions. That compares to the $86.6 million spent in November 2005 on 1.6 million admissions. Of the state's total gross receipts, 37 percent was taken in by Council Bluffs…"
