California Tribe Responds to Concerns

CALIFORNIA – As reported by the ABC News: "The Chukchansi Indian tribe is responding to concerns from Madera County over their casino and resort expansion plans.

"A tribe spokesperson said Thursday, 'We dispute the county's claim that they have jurisdiction over our land. The federal government recognizes that this is tribal land. We are puzzled by the county's late objections to our plans. The tribe has been very open with all of the county agencies involved throughout this process.'…"
