Casino Boat Seeks Stay of Winnings Reports

SOUTH CAROLINA -- As reported by Myrtle Beach Online: "A judge is expected to rule this week on a request from SunCruz Casino to stay his order that the vessel must report all its winnings to the state.

"Sun Cruz filed the request in response to Administrative Law Court Judge Marvin Kittrell's ruling that the state Department of Revenue was within its rights to demand detailed accounts of the money that passes through the boat's gambling tables and machines.

"The casino boat, which is one of two that makes offshore gambling cruises from Little River, is appealing the ruling and said it will be harmed by having to comply with the order while the appeal is being considered.

"SunCruz, whose owners argued it should have to report only percentages of winnings, can't undo having to file the reports once they are filed, the vessel's filing said..."
