WMS tops net from 2007

CHICAGO, Illinois -- Gaming equipment provider WMS Industries reported net income of $21.6 million, or 36 cents per share, in its recently completed fourth quarter, surpassing the same figures from a year ago.

The slot machine maker, which is based in suburban Chicago, had a net income of $16.7 million, or 29 cents per share, during the fourth quarter of 2007.

Revenues in the quarter were $185.6 million, a 17 percent increase from $158 million a year ago.

For all of fiscal 2008, WMS said its net income rose 38 percent over 2007 to $67.5 million, or $1.15 per share. Company revenues in fiscal 2008 were $650.1 million, a 20 percent increase over 2007.
