Wireless Dimensions Corporation Unveils Mobile-Venue Suite

Targeted at stadium events and other venues, the product will provide a complete, patented platform for wireless gaming, trivia, contests, vending/concessions and merchandise sales. Designed to operate with WAP-compatible devices, Mobile-Venue(tm) will be released in fall, 2000. It consists of the following components:

``Through the use of trivia contests, games and advertising, users at an event will be given points or discounts good toward purchases. They will be able to check statistics such as a particular batter's batting average versus left-handed pitching. From their seats they will be able to order food, beverages, and merchandise. For the user, it means no more standing in line waiting to order concessions.''

Key elements of the Mobile-Venue(tm) product line include:

Use of WDC's unique, patented wireless location technology for delivery of merchandise to a temporary location;

An ASP market approach, circumventing the need for up-front capital expenditure on the part of stadium owners and managers;

Support for WAP, the industry standard for wireless Web-based applications, and other wireless protocols;

Scaleable platform to meet the needs of a wide range of venues.

Mobile-Venue Suite(tm) is air-interface-independent and will operate on all of the major wireless networks throughout the world. It will also operate on wireless data networks. It will evolve seamlessly to run on next-generation networks.

In addition, the WAP protocol is supported on a wide variety of handheld devices, including cellular/PCS telephones, palmtop computers, and PDAs. Industry analysts project that by 2004, the number of wireless Internet devices will outnumber wired Internet devices.
