UltimateBet tournament returns to Aruba

5 April 2007

ARUBA – (PRESS RELEASE) -- UltimateBet today confirmed rumors that its popular Caribbean tournament will be returning to Aruba for the sixth year in a row.

"We're thrilled to announced that we're bringing the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic back to Aruba this September," stated UltimateBet spokesperson George MacLean. "With an estimated $2.5 million prize pool, this year's event promises to be bigger, better and hotter than ever."

Online poker players can win an $8,500 Aruba prize package at UltimateBet.com through a series of freerolls and paid satellites. The prize package includes the $5,500 main event seat and $3,000 for travel and accommodations.

In 2006, Devon Miller captured the title, taking home $774,960 in cash. This year, with an estimated 750 players in the tournament, the first place prize is expected to be even bigger.

The popular weeklong tournament -- happening in Aruba from September 23rd to September 30th -- gives online poker players the chance to celebrate their successes at the tables with poker's best professionals. Past Aruba Poker Classic participants have included Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Tilly, Phil "The Unabomber" Laak and Annie Duke. Scott Ian from Anthrax has already secured a seat in this year's event after winning VH1's Rock Stars of Poker.

This year, players can also qualify for the signature UltimateBet event through AbsolutePoker.com -- a sign that this year's UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic transcends industry competition.
