Two Michigan Lottery Prize-Winning Tickets to Expire Unclaimed

7 December 2000

LANSING, Michigan --(Press Release) -- Dec. 7, 2000-- Two winning Michigan Lottery tickets -- one worth $100,000 and the other worth $150,000 -- are set to expire over the next two weeks!

The first soon-to-expire ticket was purchased at Rite Aid Discount Pharmacy 4502, 211 E. Lake St., in Tawas, for the December 14, 1999 Cash 5 drawing. This ticket matched all five winning numbers in that night's drawing: 12, 17, 18, 25 and 28, winning the ticket-holder a $100,000 top prize.

The other ticket was purchased at Rose Market Inc., 23960 Gibraltar Road, in Flat Rock, for the December 21, 1999 Big Game drawing. This ticket matched the first five winning numbers in that night's drawing: 2, 3, 29, 46, 47 and Big Money Ball number 31, winning the ticket-holder a $150,000 top prize.

Time is quickly running out for the lucky individuals holding these tickets! Michigan Lottery on-line prizes are valid for a period of one year from the draw date. The individual holding the December 14, 1999 winning Cash 5 ticket will have until the close of business, Thursday, December 14, 2000, to claim his or her prize. The individual holding the December 21, 1999 winning Big Game ticket will have until the close of business, Thursday, December 21, 2000, to claim his or her prize.

``It would be a shame to see these prizes go by unclaimed,'' said Michigan Lottery Commissioner Don Gilmer. ``I am urging each and every player who purchased Lottery tickets at these retailers to take a couple minutes this weekend to check their old Big Game and Cash 5 tickets. The time you take to check your tickets could end up being the most valuable time you have ever spent!''

If Michigan Lottery prizes are not claimed within the one-year period, they revert to the state School Aid Fund. In the case of a Big Game prize, in which all Big Game states have contributed to funding the prize, Michigan's allotted share of the prize money will be transferred to the School Aid Fund.

For more information about any unclaimed Michigan Lottery prize, players can call 517-335-5640.
