Incorporated into the hotel is the largest convention center in Tunisia, which includes a ballroom with an 800 person capacity and 10 additional meeting rooms with capacities varying from 15 to 20. Besides the Le Palace Hotel at the Cleopatra Palace Resort at Cap Gammarth, a second hotel is scheduled to open in Tunisia under the flag of Cleopatra's World: the Jockey Club in Monastir, Tunisia. Formerly a Meridian Hotel property, the Jockey Club is currently being remodeled and expanded to 1,000 rooms and Cleopatra's World is scheduled to assume operations of this property at the beginning of 1997. According to Mr. Luke, two additional properties are under negotiation by Cleopatra's World, one in Sousse and one on the island of Djerbs. Cleopatra's World is also planning to open properties in Morocco and is negotiating two properties in Marrakech, a five-star hotel and casino in Agadir. In addition, Cleopatra's World is studying a hotel project in Charm Echelkh, Egypt. |
