Ticket Sold in Kentucky Wins $13.5 Million Powerball Jackpot17 July 2003MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania --(Press Release) -- Exactly one week after two tickets won the July 9 Powerball jackpot, a ticket purchased in Kentucky won the top prize in the July 11, 2003, Powerball® drawing by matching all five white balls, 18, 27, 28, 30, 49, plus the red Powerball, 20. Once the prize is claimed, the Kentucky winner will choose between the $13.5 million annuity and the cash value of the prize, $7,522,151.20. The estimated Powerball® annuity jackpot returns to $10 million for the Saturday, July 19, 2003, drawing. A single cash option winner of this Saturday's drawing could take home an estimated $5.6 million prize. Two winning tickets - one sold in Pennsylvania, the other in Missouri - matched all five white balls, 19-21-26-31-51, and the red Powerball®, 40, in the July 9, 2003, drawing. The jackpot prize of $261,300,000 will be split evenly between the two winners, with each receiving $130,650,000. The $130,650,000 Powerball® jackpot is the largest jackpot prize ever won in the 31-year history of the Pennsylvania Lottery. At this time, no one has claimed the winning ticket sold in Pennsylvania. The ticket was purchased at Jim Lash's 7-Eleven on Glen Eden Road in Cranberry Township, Butler County. The Lottery encourages the ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket, contact a financial adviser, and call the Lottery at (717) 986-4720. The prize must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. A claim may be filed Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each winner has 60 days from the date he or she claims the prize to decide whether to receive their share over 30 years, or to take a one-time payment of $73,641,790.05. |
