Thai Officials Grilled Over Cambodia Casino Trip27 August 2002THAILAND – As reported by the Australia Advertiser: "Several Thai parliamentarians are to be grilled over claims that they hit the gambling tables during a `study tour' of Cambodian border casinos, officials said today. "The MPs were supposed to be studying the pros and cons of legalising casinos in Thailand, a proposal aimed at stemming the flow of money to gambling dens in neighbouring nations. "A House Committee has asked for explanations from the MPs about last Friday's trip, after one of them reportedly admitted they did gamble - but only for `educational purposes'.
