Texas Lottery Commission Amends Proposed Rule Changes

AUSTIN, Texas – July 26, 2001 – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Texas Lottery Commission is considering changing some game rules, including how it labels the Lotto Texas jackpot.

"If approved, one change would label the Texas Lotto prize amount as an advertised jackpot, instead of the current estimated jackpot.

"…Another proposed change would require the comptroller to calculate for the lottery commission how much it will cost the agency to pay winners who elect to receive their Lotto prize in 25 annual payments instead of one lump sum.

" …`This is not going to have any impact on our play in public,' [Executive Director Linda Cloud] said at the commission's monthly meeting…"
