Syrian Casino already under closure threat5 January 2011DAMASCUS, Syria -- A casino which quietly opened in Damascus last week is attracting criticism, according to The National. The Ocean Club opened close to Damascus airport without an official license, MPs are tabling a "formal query" into its activities that could see the Ocean Club forcibly shut down, The National reported. The casino was described by an unnamed source as less a casino and more a "games hall" in The National report. Ocean Club has been very busy with queues and standing room only, the report noted. |
