Stanley Leisure Plans Super-Casino27 August 2002UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by IC Liverpool: "Livepool-based gaming group Stanley Leisure is poised to exploit new laws to create a `super casino' in the city. "Sports Minister Richard Caborn announced plans to allow casinos to stage live entertainment for the first time in a relaxation of regulations by the Gaming Board. "Paul Collis, managing director of Stanley Casinos, said they have now identified two Liverpool sites considered suitable to stage live entertainment - but he ruled out conversion of Lime Street's former ABC cinema which was believed to be in the frame. "…`We have a couple of sites under wraps in Liverpool which would be big enough to include live entertainment in them and in the next two or three months we could reveal the Liverpool centre.' "He admitted: `The ABC would have been good, probably two years ago before the proposal for increased new games and live entertainment. "`But we now see it as under-sized. It's a great location, but I wish it was about 30% bigger.'…" |
