Sportsbooks Support TAB Merger Conditionally

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: "Tabcorp's proposed $2.3 billion takeover of NSW TAB has won conditional support from some of its biggest competitors, the online sports betting agencies.

"ACT online and telephone sports betting operator SportOdds and UK betting exchange Betfair said they didn't oppose Tabcorp's plans to create the nation's biggest wagering empire, so long as they were allowed to compete on a level playing field.

"Sydney millionaire bookmaker Con Kafataris, who owns SportOdds, wants the NSW Government to lift restrictions preventing online sports betting operators obtaining an operating licence in NSW…"
