Sportsbook.com offers NFL game odds

17 November 2006

NEW YORK, New York – (PRESS RELEASE) — Top spot in the AFC west is on the line on Sunday night when San Diego and Denver face-off for the first of two meetings in four weeks between the heated division rivals. Odds makers at Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, expect a close game when the NFL's best offense (Chargers) meets the league's stingiest defense (Broncos) at Invesco Field. Defense and home field advantage are enough for odds makers and bettors alike with the 2.5 point favorite Broncos receiving 59 per cent of all wagers.

Indianapolis kept their perfect season alive by squeaking out a one point win over the Bills last week - making them the first NFL team to go 9-0 in two consecutive seasons. This week the Colts are favored over the Cowboys by one point in their match up in Dallas. The Colts have beaten the Cowboys in the teams' last three meetings, but that was without Terrell Owens in the Dallas lineup. Owens is the catalyst for the Cowboys' offense and is tied for the league lead in TD receptions as he prepares to face a suspect defense..

The Redskins will be without RB Clinton Portis when they face Tampa Bay on Sunday in a must-win game if they hope to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Portis was placed on the injured reserve list by Washington when they learned he would have season ending shoulder surgery. Ladell Betts, one of the NFL's top # 2 tailbacks, will be stepping into the starter's position.

Pro Bowl QB Trent Green will be welcomed back on the field by the Kansas City Chiefs this week against Oakland. Green was knocked unconscious in the Chief's season opener and has been given clearance to play, though it is uncertain if coach Herm Edwards will start him or Damon Huard. Odds makers like the Chiefs' chances either way, installing Kansas City as a nine point favorite.
