Sportsbook.com offers Golden Globe odds

HOLLYWOOD, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- As Hollywood's A-list get ready to work the red carpet at this year's Golden Globe awards, movie buffs around the world are joining the action as Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, is offering odds on all of the major film categories.

Scorsese's return to the gangster genre has proven to be fruitful as The Departed is on top of the odds chart to win Best Drama Motion Picture at 1-2. The thrilling Boston mob flick has also attracted bettors' attention as it has received over 75 per cent of total money wagered. The Departed has also boosted Scorsese as the favorite to take the Best Director prize with 2-7 odds. Bettors are agreeing with odds makers, as Scorsese has received 86.1 per cent of total money wagered.

In the Best Performance by an Actor category, Forest Whitaker is the favorite with 2-5 odds of taking the prize for his riveting performance as the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland. However Smith has received 42 per cent of total money wagered for his lead role in the rags-to-riches movie The Pursuit of Happyness.

The Queen recounts the aftermath of the sudden death of Princess Diana in 1997. Helen Mirren's portrayal as the Queen of England was good enough to earn her top odds for Best Performance by an Actress at 1-10. Her performance has also earned her great support from bettors at Sportsbook.com, with 86.4 per cent of total money wagered backing the dame.

Odds makers are picking Dreamgirls for Best Musical or Comedy at 2-9 odds. The on-screen adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical follows the rise of 60s girl group the Dreams. Bettors are showing overwhelming support for the film as it has received 67.4 per cent of all money wagered.

Sacha Baron Cohan's role in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan has made him the favorite for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical with 1-5 odds. Kazakhstan's most controversial reporter is also the clear winner among bettors, as Cohan has received 88.7% of fans support.

In The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep's performance as the demanding and merciless magazine editor has made her the favorite for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical at 1-6 odds. The two-time Oscar winner captured 53.4 per cent of total wagers from Sportsbook.com bettors.
