Sports betting goes live in Wyoming

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On 1 September 2021, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed the Emergency Rules for Online Sports Wagering, opening the door for the Commission’s final authorization of Online Sports Wagering Permittees.

Upon the final rule filing with the Secretary of State, the Commission held a 1:30 pm special meeting to approve the permits for Wyoming’s first two Online Sports Wagering Operators: BetMGM, LLC dba Roar Digital and Crown WY Gaming LLC, dba DraftKings.

DraftKings officially went live at 1:57 PM (MST). The first legal wager placed in the state of Wyoming was a straight wager on the spread for an upcoming NCAA football game, UAB @ Jacksonville St., with the $1.10 wager on Jacksonville St, +16.5.

BetMGM has since followed with their official launch and both are now in operation.
