Sport Interaction Offer Odds on NBA Brawl Aftermath

24 November 2004

DETROIT, Michigan – (PRESS RELEASE) -- After last Friday's brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, Sports Interaction has responded by allowing its members to place bets on various outcomes, from possible litigation against players or the NBA to whether charges will be levied against any players or fans.

Think Ron Artest will come back early from suspension to play another game this season? A $10 bet could return you $22.50. Or you can bet on whether he will face civil fines, or whether a fight will break out during the December 25 rematch of the two teams. Those who fancy a long shot can bet on whether Don King will replace Carlisle as the Pacers head coach, and whether Ron Artest will cover the Beatles "All You Need is Love" on his forthcoming album.

"The whole scenario is ridiculous," says Ruth Purcell of Sports Interaction. "The athletes are out of control, the fans are out of control. This morning, if you Google 'Artest,' you'll find a sponsored link to personal injury lawyers. We thought this was a good way to make light of, and frankly, to make fun of, a spectacle that has otherwise tarnished the sport."

The current "Basketbrawl" wager is part of Sports Interaction's larger "Special" bets section. In the same section, you can also bet on whether John Kerry will marry Condoleeza Rice, or whether Eminem will write a children's book.

Sports Interaction (http://www.sportsinteraction.com) was founded in 1997, and continues to be the largest online sportsbook licensed and regulated in North America. With over 300,000 members, its goal is to provide fun, interactive online betting in a secure and strictly regulated environment.
