Speculation Rises over London Clubs' Future3 June 2005UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the UK Telegraph: "Dealers continued to watch London Clubs International yesterday as they speculated that an Indonesian business figure is running his slide rule over the casino operator. "The latest talk was that Putera Sampoerna, the head of the family that sold its controlling stake in cigarette maker Sampoerna to tobacco giant Philip Morris, is trying to create a chain of top flight casinos. "…He is understood to have now acquired two casino sites in St Petersburg and Moscow. Dealers speculated Mr Sampoerna has approached Malaysian gaming group Genting for its 29.9pc stake in London Clubs and is keen to own Mayfair casino Les Ambassadeurs.
