South Point Las Vegas releases event schedule26 February 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- South Point Hotel Casino and Spa Las Vegas is proud to announce its schedule of upcoming events. Silver Dollar Circuit Quarter Horse Show & Western Gift Expo 23-28 February Now in its 43rd year, the Silver Dollar Circuit Quarter Horse Show and Western Gift Expo returns to the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center Friday, 23 February through Wednesday, 28 February. The amateur, amateur select and youth class will compete in traditional western-style competitive events, and showmanship. The open class competitions will run from Monday, 26 February to Wednesday, 28 February. Along with exciting competition, guests have the option to visit the Western Gift Expo. This event is open and free to the public. Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour 2018 3 March The pioneer behind the sport of professional bull riding, Tuff Hedeman, is returning to Las Vegas, and to the South Point Arena, on Saturday, 3 March with his signature event, newly titled "Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding." Top ranked bull riders and bulls will compete for one night only as four-time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer, Tuff Hedeman, lines up the roster of World Champions and Wrangler National Finals Rodeo athletes to compete for the championship title. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale online. World Series Super Qualifier Team Roping and Western Gift Show 16-18 March Coming to the South Point Arena for the second year in a row is the World Series Super Qualifier on Friday, 16 March through Sunday, 18 March. The World Series Super Qualifier Team Roping event will bring the top team ropers to Las Vegas as they compete for prizes, cowboy glory and a spot in the 2018 World Series of Team Roping. Guests can also shop inside the Western Gift Expo to find all types of Western lifestyle products. This event is free and open to the public. National Reining Cow Horse Association "Stallion Stakes" and Western Gift Show 24-31 March The National Reining Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) "Stallion Stakes" competition returns to South Point Arena Saturday, 24 March through Saturday, 31 March. Throughout the week, fans will enjoy the cultural experience of the largest working cow horse event for four- and five-year-old horses competing in snaffle bits and hackamores. In between those competitions, guests are welcome to visit and purchase Western products in the Western Gift Show on the arena concourse. This event is free and open to the public. "Let It Ride" Team Penning and Ranch Sorting 5-8 April The "Let It Ride" Team Penning and Ranch Sorting event returns to take over the Priefert Pavilion from Thursday, 5 April through Sunday, 8 April. Fans will witness top team penning and ranch sorting teams compete in high-speed rounds. This event is free and open to the public. Aloha Las Vegas Cheerleading Competition 7-8 April South Point Arena welcomes back the Aloha Las Vegas Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, 7 April and Sunday, 8 April. This exciting two-day event features all-star cheer, school, recreational and dance team divisions competing on a spring floor for the chance to take home the grand champion title and receive a paid bid with complimentary hotel accommodations to compete in the Cali Finale in Los Angeles. Arabian Breeders World Cup and Gift Show 12-15 April The Arabian Breeders World Cup brings Arabian horses from around the world to the South Point Arena Thursday, 12 April through Sunday, 15 April. This horse show is one of the premier stops on the international equestrian calendar. International breeders will travel to Las Vegas to showcase the natural beauty, nobility and unique characteristics of the Arabian horse breed. While guests witness this competition filled with beautiful Arabian horses, they can also visit a gift show located on the arena concourse. Additionally, Wayne Newton will be attending on Sunday, 15 April to sing after the flag ceremony and to help kick off the Sunday finals. This event is free and open to the public. American Quarter Horse Association Level One Championship and Western Gift Expo 18-22 April South Point Arena hosts the five-day American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Level One Championship from Wednesday, 18 April through Sunday, 22 April. Throughout this championship event, horse enthusiasts can celebrate the best national and state level one quarter horse riders from the equestrian world. In addition, the best place to find Western-themed gifts will be at the Western Gift Expo, located on the arena concourse. This event is free and open to the public. 2018 Open Wrestling Championships 25-28 April The South Point Arena welcomes the return of the 2018 Open Wresting Championships from Wednesday, 25 April through Saturday, 28 April. Wrestling fans will see various types of wrestling matches as thousands of wrestlers of all ages, levels and styles travel to Las Vegas to compete for championship titles. Tickets will be on sale soon. West Coast Regional Finals Rodeo & Western Gift Expo 4-5 April The West Coast Regional Finals Rodeo returns to take over the South Point Arena Friday, 4 May and Saturday, 5 May. Rodeo fans have the chance to watch the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebel Rodeo Team as they compete against rival colleges and universities to advance to the College National Finals Rodeo. Students will compete in nine different events, including bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and more. Guests can also browse a large selection of Western themed products at the Western Gift Show on the arena concourse. Tickets will be on sale soon.
