South Dakota Bet Limit Measure Debated26 October 2000SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota –Oct. 26, 2000 – As reported by The Associated Press: "A higher bet limit could mean more jobs for Deadwood, a supporter of the ballot measure that would allow $100 bets in the gambling town said Thursday. "The casinos can't pay miners' wages, but they can offer jobs to people who want to stay in the region, she said. That happened two years ago during an earlier round of Homestake layoffs, Nelson said…" |
