Sky City Casino Changes Name

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Stuff: "Sky group's general manager marketing Heather Shotter said the move would save money, raise the casino's profile nationally and help promote the city as a destination internationally.

"But the disappearance of the Riverside logo has upset Hamilton Mayor David Braithwaite, who said the name focused on the city's major attraction - the Waikato River.

"…'I guess we have to bow to the marketing gurus but I liked the name Sky Riverside. It conjures up an image,' he said.

"SkyCity made a net profit of $107.2 million (US$61.21 million) for the year ended June 30…"
