Scientific Games to Provide Texas Lottery

9 September 2003

NEW YORK – (Press Release) -- Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) announced that the Texas Lottery Commission named Scientific Games the apparent successful proposer as the result of an emergency solicitation for instant ticket manufacturing and services. The contract is valued at $3.8 million dollars for the initial six-month term and includes an additional six-month option at the Texas Lottery's sole discretion. The Commission named three other instant game suppliers as apparent successful secondary proposers.

Scientific Games delivered its first ticket to the Texas Lottery in June of 1999. Since that date, 200 games and over 3.7 billion tickets with a retail value of approximately $7 billion have been delivered by the company.

Lorne Weil, chairman and CEO of Scientific Games, said, "We are very happy to continue our mutually successful relationship with the Texas Lottery Commission during which time instant retail sales have increased from $1.66 billion in fiscal 2000 to $2.12 billion in fiscal year 2003. We look forward to assisting them in achieving their future goals."
