Scientific Games Gets Extension of Florida Contract

NEW YORK –(Press Release) --Jan. 28, 2002-- Scientific Games Corporation (Amex: SGM) today announced that its lottery subsidiary Scientific Games International has received an extension on its instant ticket and cooperative services contract with the Florida Lottery. The total value of the extension is approximately $32 million over its two-year term. The extension is the first of three available options as part of the original agreement that began in 1997.

Lorne Weil, Chairman and CEO of Scientific Games Corporation said, ``We regard customer retention as paramount to the continued health and prosperity of Scientific Games. We have worked with the Florida Lottery since 1988 when the lottery first started and consider it to be a very important customer. This extension is proof that we are offering customers a menu of products and services that meets the lottery's needs. During the course of our relationship with Florida, sales have increased steadily and we will keep working closely with the Commission to make improvements as we go forward.''

David Griffin, Secretary of the Florida Lottery, added, ``We are pleased to enter this contract extension with Scientific Games International. Our instant ticket product has performed well and we look forward to continued success in our relationship with Scientific Games International.''
