Sands Kansas proposal doesn't get support5 November 2007KANSAS -- As reported by the Kansan News: "The Unified Government's Urban Planning and Land Use department is going to recommend that the Planning Commission deny an application by Las Vegas Sands to build a half-billion dollar casino in Wyandotte County. "According to public documents available on the UG's Web site, the UG's planning staff claims the Sands proposal does not fit in with the county-wide master plan that designates the proposed site near Leavenworth Road and Interstate 435 for mixed residential development. "Sands is one of five companies that have offered proposals in Kansas City, Kan., to build the county's single, state-owned destination casino. The planning staff apparently recommended the other five proposals to the planning commission..." |
