Sands Gets Temporary License

14 February 2003

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey –As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "Tom Davis officially came home Wednesday and found his home a mess.

"The Casino Control Commission unanimously approved a temporary key license for Davis to become president of Sands Casino Hotel, which has been floundering for more than a year amid a merry-go-round of executive changes.

"`I'm appreciative of the commission and Division (of Gaming Enforcement) recommending granting this, which allows me to get to work at Sands and start fixing some things,' Davis said.

"Sands last month named Davis its fourth president in 13 months.

"Davis, originally from Edison, began his casino career at Harrah's Atlantic City in 1980 and stayed there 12 years. He moved to Harrah's in Joliet, Ill., and over the next 10 years was general manager or assistant general manager at six other casinos in five states…"
