Renovation of Boomtown Coming; Cabela's Talks Continue8 November 2005RENO, Nevada -- As reported by the Reno-Gazette Journal: "Boomtown Reno hotel-casino will be renovated in the next year, but officials didn't have any new information to offer Monday regarding negotiations with Cabela's outdoor retailer. "Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas, which owns Boomtown Reno, conducted a conference call to report third quarter financials Monday. It reported positive results because of a tax benefit, despite massive business interruptions during the quarter from hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. "...Officials said the renovation planned for 2006 is in anticipation of the retailer Cabela's opening a hunting and fishing store on the property. "Lee said negotiations with Cabela's and other retailers for the company's property west of town are going well. "...Boomtown General Manager Jack Fisher said Monday that the design and cost estimates for the renovation have not been decided, but that it will incorporate a lighter feel throughout the casino.
