Rank Applauds Liberalized Gaming Rules14 November 2002UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the icNewcastle: "Leisure group Rank was yesterday singing the praises of liberalised gaming rules allowing jazz music and alcohol in its casinos. The London-based group, which owns Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos, started serving alcohol in early August and expects to see a boost in sales next year. "The biggest shake-up in gambling laws since the 1960s, announced in March, also allows an increased range of games. The changes affecting 35 Grosvenor casinos have served as a further boost to a division which Rank said enjoyed `strong results' in the last four months. "…Across the group, Rank said the general trading outlook was `firm'." |
