Racing UK to broadcast Velka Pardubicka6 October 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Velka Pardubicka in the Czech Republic, one of the world's most famous horse races, is in HD and exclusive on Racing U.K. on Sunday. A field of 20 will take in 31 obstacles over a shade over four and a quarter miles in this thrilling cross-country race, which is due off at 3:40 p.m. (BST) on Racing U.K. (Sky 432, Virgin Media U.K. 536 / Ireland 411 and Freeview / YouView 261). Felix de Giles, former conditional rider at Nicky Henderson, will be reunited with Urgent De Gregaine, who won the Glenfarclas Cross-Country Chase at Cheltenham on Festival Trials Day back in January. The Emmanuel Clayeux-trained nine-year-old is one of three horses making the trip from France, with Guillaume Macaire supplying the other two in the shape of Virtus D'Estruval and Songe D'Estruval. Virtus D'Estruval is ridden by the cross-country genius Jan Faltejsek, while Colm McCormack, formerly based in the U.K., is on board Songe D'Estruval. Josef Vana will bid for his 10th win in the showpiece as a trainer when he saddles No Time To Lose, Ange Guardian, Zarif and Power Zar, while Charme Look will have his supporters in his bid to follow up last year's victory. Mark Johnson and Claude Charlet will be in the Racing U.K. studio to guide viewers through the action from the Czech Republic on Sunday, which will be shown alongside a competitive programme from Kelso and a valuable Auteuil card in France.
