President of Malta awarded on behalf of Mr Green15 June 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- Today, Whiteflag Int awarded Malta and Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the President of Malta, with a second Whiteflag award. This award was made possible thanks to the concrete actions and measures taken by iGaming operator Mr Green Ltd to protect and clean Malta’s most important natural resource. The award was presented by Whiteflag Int CEO Mr. Kristijan Curavic in recognition of Mr Green’s three-year commitment to support the clean-up of one of the Maltese Islands most treasured beaches; Ir-Ramla tal-Mixquqa (Golden Bay). This makes Mr Green the first iGaming operator in the world to receive the Whiteflag award. Joining the ceremony was the Hon. Dr. José A. Herrera, the Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, who commended the initiative which is enabling Malta to become a member of Ocean Alliance Conservation Member (OACM) and one of the most environmental top tourism ocean destination in the world. Mr Green Ltd CEO Jesper Kärrbrink commented, “As a Malta-based operator we are, like many other Maltese, worried about the increased amount of plastics in our oceans, which are an important part of our ecosystem. We recognize the importance of an environmental mindset, and our aim is to create awareness about the health levels of the oceans which is the foundation for making a positive change before it is too late.” Whiteflag Int CEO Kristijan Curavic commented, "I am proud to present Mr Green the Whiteflag award as a sign of becoming a protector of the world’s oceans. We want to send the message to think globally and act locally. Mr Green’s actions and their objective to make a positive environmental change is a shining example we hope other will follow.”
