Pennsylvania's Instant Battleship II Ticket Goes on Sale

2 August 2001

MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania--(Press Release)--Aug. 2, 2001--It's time to man your battle stations and play Instant Battleship II, a new instant ticket game from the Pennsylvania Lottery. Instant Battleship goes on sale Tuesday, August 7, 2001, joining two additional instant ticket games - CA$H BLA$T and One-Eyed Jack - that debut the same day.

Instant Battleship II sails into view with a top instant prize of $30,000! This $3 instant ticket game is based on the popular board game.

To play, scratch your shots one at a time to reveal a grid location (letter-number combination). Find the corresponding grid location on the target grid and scratch that square (players may mark the square with a pen, if they desire). Continue until all of your shots and the corresponding grid squares on the target grid have been revealed.

Do not scratch target grid areas that do not correspond to a your shots grid location.

When you sink (completely uncover, using only your shots / target grid locations) an Aircraft Carrier (AC), a Battleship (BS), a Cruiser (CR), a Submarine (SB), a Destroyer (DS) or a Mine (MN), you win the corresponding prize shown in the Prize Legend. Sink (completely uncover on the target grid) all five ships to win the $30,000 top prize.

Instant Battleship II winners of $30,000 do not receive the individual prizes that correspond to each individual ship uncovered.

Instant Battleship II has more than $11 million in total cash prizes in the game with over $2.3 million in cash prizes between $12 and $23. There are six chances to win on each ticket. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1-in-3.14.

The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery that designates its proceeds to benefit older citizens.
