Pala Casino continues expansion2 July 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- Continuing its expansion and remodel, Pala Casino Spa and Resort — which on 19 May opened its new resort pool experience, Tourmaline, and 420 new, additional parking spaces in its expanded hotel garage — today opened three additional resort attractions: Luis Rey’s Restaurant, Bar & Patio Lounge, Marquise Bar & Lounge and its new 15,000-square-foot, glass-walled, smoke-free casino area. “Our full-property remodel and expansion is well underway. The heavy construction is behind us and we are excited to be unveiling these new amenities to our guests ahead of the bustling summer season. We have introduced both new indoor and outdoor bars, lounges and resort spaces that we feel uniquely capitalize on Pala’s beautiful Southern California location,” said Pala Chief Executive Officer Bill Bembenek. One of the new indoor spaces that Pala believes will be popular is the new smoke-free casino space, which is enclosed with glass from floor-to-ceiling. Pala’s HVAC system has been augmented to ensure that positive air flows out from the smoke-free space into the casino area where smoking is allowed. “As part of our casino re-model and expansion, we are paying particular attention to our many guests who prefer to enjoy the smoke-free areas within our resort. We have created a beautifully-appointed casino area that will offer over 300 slot and video poker machines, live poker, casino cashier services and several restaurants and bars. Guests are able to enter the smoke-free casino directly through the smoke-free hotel entrance utilizing our complimentary valet service,” Bembenek said. The opening of the two new bars, Luis Rey’s and Marquise, gives Pala’s guests five spacious bars and lounges to choose from, several of which include stages with live entertainment. Luis Rey’s, a previously popular bar and lounge, has been doubled in size with a large centerpiece bar that is half indoors and half outdoors, and includes a glass retractable door through the middle. “Our intention with the Luis Rey’s expansion is to invite the beautiful outdoors inside, allowing our guests to enjoy cocktails, dine and enjoy live music all within the backdrop of the beautiful mountains which surround the resort,” Bembenek said. Pala also opened the Marquise Bar, its newest casino bar and lounge. This opulent bar offers plush lounge space and ample seating right in the middle of the casino action. The bar is adorned with hundreds of strands of crystals and is the centerpiece of a new 10,000 square-foot gaming area, which will offer over 300 new slot and video poker machines along with new blackjack and roulette tables. The Marquise Bar offers a wide selection of specialty cocktails including Ginger Sweet Peach Tea, a Vesper, a Mezquila Cocktail, a Cosmopolitan Martini, a Chamomile Tequila Sour, a Volcan Palermo, a Mexican Mule, a Pineapple Strawberry Mojito, a Lemonhead Martini and a Bulleit Old Fashion, all for $13. Also available is a wide selection of domestic, craft and imported draft and bottled beers ranging from $5.25 to $13.50 per serving and a wide variety of white and red wine, including champagne and sparkling wine, from $9 to $24 per glass. The Marquise Bar is open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily and its lounge area from 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily. Luis Rey’s offers a wide selection of appetizers, including Pala’s world-famous Street Tacos, Fish Tacos and Carne Asada Nachos.
