Oz Casino Boss Predicts Decreased Casino Revenue

13 July 2001

AUSTRALIA –– As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Company: "The new boss of Queensland casino group, Jupiters, says the company's future growth will be driven by sports, Internet and technology based betting.

"…[Rob Hines] says around 80 per cent of Jupiters' earnings are currently generated by its casinos in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

"But he says the company's casino-generated revenue will fall significantly over the next five to 10 years.

"`We're hoping, our plans are to move that closer to 50 per cent without limiting the growth that we may achieve in those land-based casinos, we're going to very aggressively grow the electronic gaming side of our business,' Mr Hines said."
