Opening Day for Hazel Park Harness Raceway30 March 2001LIVONIA, Mich., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Hazel Park Harness Raceway is currently preparing for their opening day of live horse racing on April 2, according to Michigan Racing Commissioner Annette M. Bacola. ``Hazel Park Harness Raceway is one of our premier standardbred tracks with an excellent speed rating. The Monday opener will mark the 51st year of live racing at the track,'' said Bacola. Live harness racing returns to Hazel Park with a post time of 7:35 p.m. The live pari-mutuel race meeting will run on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday schedule through October 13. In addition to live racing, Hazel Park Harness Raceway is open for full-card simulcast wagering from noon until midnight seven days a week. The ORC is the official state agency charged with regulating, promoting and serving the horse racing industry in the State of Michigan. ORC programs serve all sectors of horse racing, which is a $1.2 billion industry that supports more than 42,000 jobs statewide, and is an important part of Michigan agriculture. |
