Ocean Jewel Employees Face Lay Offs

TAMPA, Florida – As reported by the Tampa Tribune: "Titan Cruise Lines, the St. Petersburg-based firm that operates the Ocean Jewel casino ship, intends to lay off 415 workers in October, according to papers the company filed withthe state Wednesday.

"The layoffs come just a few weeks after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

"On Monday night, about 90 passengers were stranded on the ship - some for up to 19 hours -because the firm's shuttle boat broke down…"
