NYX Interactive, Trimark Gaming offers new poker product

1 February 2008

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Gaming industry attendees at the ICEi Gaming Conference in London responded enthusiastically to the market launch of poker variant, AlphaBet and a new online network licensing opportunity. The AlphaBet multi-player poker network, developed by NYX Interactive and operated by Trimark Gaming, offers online gaming operators the opportunity to provide this exciting new skill game to their players and take part in a multi-faceted marketing strategy.

AlphaBet is a new variation on poker played with words rather than traditional playing cards, appealing to both poker players and word-game enthusiasts. Players are dealt 3 hole-cards, each bearing a letter and a corresponding letter value. Four community cards are dealt in conjunction with rounds of betting. The object of the game is for players to compete for the best scoring word using any combination of their hold-cards and the community cards.

Traditional poker offers players only 10 possible scoring hands but AlphaBet challenges players to incorporate word skill and increases the number of possible scoring hands to over 74,000. This additional skill element makes AlphaBet engaging for poker players while expanding the appeal to a larger market of word-game and skill game players.

AlphaBet has partnered with Trimark Gaming and NYX Interactive to bring the game to Internet players worldwide through an interactive multi-player game. Players will compete in a common network poker-room through registering at any one of a number of participating licensees. Both free-play and real-money play will be offered allowing players to practice the game for fun and compete for cash with online competitors.

At the ICEi Gaming Conference held at Earls Court in London last week, industry executives were offered a chance to play AlphaBet on a specially designed table, preview the AlphaBet television pilot, and see previews of the interactive game. Industry response exceeded expectations with many top-tier online and land-based executives initiating licensing discussions.

"We are extremely excited by the response we have had to AlphaBet at ICEi. The executives in this industry are critical of new concepts but both the AlphaBet game and our comprehensive marketing strategy have earned us praise", said Keith Duddy, creator of AlphaBet, "We now look forward to launching this skill game to players worldwide in partnership with some of the best operators in the business."

The AlphaBet game is patent pending and all designs and marks are registered trademarks and property of the AlphaBet Corporation. The AlphaBet television game format is copyright.
