North Dakota Tribal Casino Suspends Employees

16 November 2000

NEW TOWN, North Dakota – Nov. 16, 2000 – As reported by the Associated Press: "Fifteen employees of the Four Bears Casino and Lodge near hear were suspended from their jobs by casino and tribal officials, pending an internal investigation.

"…Tex Hall, the tribal chairman, said all casino money has been accounted for, and no one has been suspended because of any alleged criminal activity.

"…The casino is owned and operated by the Three Affiliated Tribes.

"Hall, who is in St. Paul, Minn., this week attending the National Congress of American Indians annual meeting, said the suspensions came after a unanimous decision made Monday by the tribal business council's executive committee.

"…Hall said the 15 employees were suspended without pay. He also said if the investigation clears them of the allegations, their full pay will be reinstated retroactive to the day they were suspended."
