Nebraska Court Decision Boosts Ameristar Shares

NEW YORK – As reported by the Dow Jones: "About 23% of Ameristar's cash flow comes from Council Bluffs, Iowa, just across the Missouri River from Nebraska, according to a research note by Merrill Lynch & Co. analyst David W. Anders.

"In afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market, Ameristar shares jumped $ 2.31, or 13%, to $20.25.

"A further boost for Ameristar shares Tuesday may be an unexpectedly high August revenue figure of $24 million posted by the Missouri Gambling Commission for Ameristar's newly expanded St. Louis property.

"…For 2001, Ameristar had income before items of $33.3 million, or $1.59 a share, on revenue of $626.8 million…"
