NBC Sports launches free-to-play basketball game

6 April 2021

(PRESS RELEASE) -- NBC Sports has launched a new free-to-play basketball game, “Pick n’ Roll,” exclusively on the NBC Sports Predictor app. The first contest is now live and available for picks in advance of the featured games tomorrow night, Wednesday, 7 April.

Developed with Boom Sports, “Pick n’ Roll” features a $50,000 jackpot with two contests per week throughout the NBA regular season and Playoffs. Each contest consists of questions, covering multi-player, team and game statistics, as well as game outcomes and margin of victory. NBC Sports Regional Networks will highlight content from “Pick n’ Roll” in NBA game and studio telecasts.

Later this month, “Pick n’ Roll” will begin to utilize integrated contextual odds from PointsBet USA, the official sports betting partner of NBC Sports, within the contests, becoming the first NBC Sports Predictor game with odds integration.

NBC Sports Predictor, the highly-rated free-to-play sports gaming app, will continue to expand its game offerings over the next two years. Launched in December 2018 with Premier League Pick ‘Em as its first game, it has since expanded with NASCAR and Golf Pick ‘Em games and the Sunday Night 7 football game.

Premier League Pick ‘Em continues with a contest every Matchweek through the end of the season and Golf Pick ‘Em, which returned in February at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, features a weekly Thursday-Sunday contest for 25 tournaments this season.

To date, the NBC Sports Predictor app has more than 1.6 million downloads, more than 25 million contest entries, and has awarded more than $3 million in cash prizes to fans.
