Mother Sentenced For Abandoning Baby While Gambling13 December 2001NEW ZEALAND – Dec. 15, 2001 –As reported by the New Zealand Herald: "A mother who left her 7-week-old daughter in the Sky City casino car park while she gambled has been sentenced in the Auckland District Court to 12 months' supervision. "Puao Faumuina, 22, of Otahuhu, was also ordered to attend a parenting course and undergo counselling for gambling addiction. "…The baby was seriously dehydrated when casino security officers found her locked inside a car at 1.20 pm on November 22…" |
